"HOLY TRANSFIGURATION SCENE ,FRESCO STARTED SECTION".  The Fresco:It is made from slaked lime with water using short cut hemp fiber mixed in many layers until a homogeneous plaster paste is obtained that is applied on the wall.

One the plaster has been applied to the wall,the painting must be done quickly before the lime dries. The chemical reaction occurs between calcium hidroxide and the carbonic anhydride from the air and forms carbonic calcium crystals over pigment lacking it into the surface.The time of painting a fresco is very short,it has to be done in parts which can be finished in one day or sometimes hours since the plastering dries fast.

'THE MOTHER OF GOD ENTHRONED" Executed in traditional Byzantine Style in secco technique with egg tempera painted on special prepared wall.

'THE DORMITION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD". This is a life-size wall painting in the Chapel of the Holy Ascension Orthodox Monastery in Detroit,Michigan made with egg tempera and gold leaf painted on special preparation with chalk powder & glue on canvas reinforcement.This is traditional SECCO technique and only way to do real iconography in your church walls,where Fresco technique is not affordable.Only this two techniques are revelated in time to resist hundreds of years.We can see after 600-900 years,and more,frescoes finished in Secco technique painted with egg tempera or casein.(Andrei Rublev wall iconography finished secco).
