"HOLY TRANSFIGURATION SCENE ,FRESCO STARTED SECTION". The Fresco:It is made from slaked lime with water using short cut hemp fiber mixed in many layers until a homogeneous plaster paste is obtained that is applied on the wall.
One the plaster has been applied to the wall,the painting must be done quickly before the lime dries. The chemical reaction occurs between calcium hidroxide and the carbonic anhydride from the air and forms carbonic calcium crystals over pigment lacking it into the surface.The time of painting a fresco is very short,it has to be done in parts which can be finished in one day or sometimes hours since the plastering dries fast.
